FjordSpot isn't yet another app promising you fish. It's an honest tool that shows you where the fish actually has reason to be — and leaves the rest up to you.
It started with a simple frustration: why are there a thousand apps that tell you what you should have caught — but none that tell you where to try next time?
Most fishing apps are either a catch log or a map with a few dots on it. FjordSpot flips that around. We take real Norwegian data — depth, tides, seabed and weather — and let a habitat model work out where conditions actually favour the species you're after.
No magic. No "secret AI". Just open, verifiable logic that you can understand yourself — and disagree with.
What we believe in
Honesty over hype. We don't say "the world's most advanced". We show you why a spot looks promising, and let you be the judge.
Norwegian conditions, Norwegian data. Built for our fjords and coast — not a translated foreign app.
Respect for the fish. Knowing where the fish are is also gentler fishing. You don't need to cast a hundred times in the wrong place.

Built by one angler
FjordSpot is made in the Bergen area — by one man. Cato Tangen was missing a tool that could answer “where should I try next?”, so he built it himself: evenings of code, days on the fjord to test it.
Along the way, fishing partners like Endre, Magnar and others have contributed honest feedback, photos and catch data. But every line of code, every species profile and every design decision comes from someone who actually stands out on the water in all kinds of weather.
